Bears re-sign McCown

02:15 PM ET 04.01 | The Chicago Bears have agreed to terms with quarterback Josh McCown, who will receive one-year deals for the 2013 season. McCown originally signed with Chicago in 2011. He was released last year at the end of the preseason, but the Bears chose to bring him back in November. With Jason Campbell gone, McCown will serve as the primary backup for Jay Cutler. McCown was a liaison between Cutler and the coaching staff last season. The Bears starting quarterback wasn't happy when the team parted ways with McCown. Perhaps Chicago kept Cutler's feelings in mind with this move.

Nice job interns. This is such important news that you posted this one twice now. I'll comment after the third or fourth time.

Don't wait too long or McCown will already be released.

Good job by Chicago. Wouldn't want to upset Jay's delicate sensibilities.

Exactly why does Chicago pander to Jay Cutler? I just don't see it. He's moody, not a team guy, throws late into traffic, pouts, injury prone, not a leader, grumpy, did I say moody????????
