02:37 PM ET 04.01 | Defensive end Kenyon Coleman signed a one-year deal with the New Orleans Saints on Monday. Coleman was offered the contract on Friday and made his signing official after taking the weekend to think it over. After playing under defensive coordinator Rob Ryan over the past four seasons with Dallas and Cleveland, Coleman already knows the system he'll be running with the Saints. Soon to be 34, Coleman is heading into his 12th season in the league. He brings a veteran presence to New Orleans. A better fit as a 3-4 defensive end, Coleman excels in stopping the run. He's recorded 13.5 sacks since entering the league in 2002, so the Saints know what type of role player they're getting with this deal.

Wow. A DE with 1 sack per year. 12 years. EXCELS at stopping the run.

EXCELLENCE at DE means that they are sacking the qb, not stopping the run after.

What I take from this is that this guy can tackle, but couldn't actually get around a tackle in time to get a sack if you gave him a motorcycle.
