08:08 AM ET 04.02 | Credit Ty Lawson for believing in his teammates. Lawson vows the Nuggets (50-24) "can get to the NBA Finals" and win. Never mind if their Finals foe could be the mighty Heat. "I think so," Lawson said when asked if the Nuggets could beat the Heat for the title. "They beat us twice early in the year when we weren't really in sync. We were still trying to find ourselves. So I feel like if we play them now it would be a better game and we could actually beat them." ... So what makes Lawson think the Nuggets could turn the tide if the teams meet in the Finals? "Teamwork, and we could throw a lot of people at LeBron (James) and (Dwyane Wade), and not just one person," Lawson said.

Now that was funny. Good one kid very good one. Cant be mad at your confidence but news flash young sir....The Heat are in even more sync than when they beat you earlier this year. Good luck even making the conference finals.

There's no doubt there's lots of teams out there than can beat Heat. Chicago, Indiana, Lakers, Memphis and Nuggets are prime examples. The question is can they make it out of their division?

Miami is not the best team but the STERNS office with pressure from NIKE will do their best to make sure Miami beats every team. Looking at last season's series' against Boston and OKC officiating was so biased it's disgusting. I think the players need to walk off the game at some point to protest the corporate agenda the league has turned into.

4:2 is not 4:20. Hold off a few more days on the smokeage! Other than that, looks good.

He may be right but since the Nuggets will never get out of the West we'll never know.

the knicks sure aren't the best team.
They too are old.
Melo is still a regular season perfomer, can't do enough in the playoffs choker!

Please Lawson, lead your nuggets to the finals and prove that you and your team can indeed beat the heat.
While you are at it, guarantee you're the finals MVP when it's all said and done as well as a sweep too!

Spot on...

Beating a team on any given night can easily happen, which is why in basketball it is a 7 game series.

Beating Miami 4 times while they get to focus on only you and gameplan for you, good luck with that.

There are only 2 teams that have the firepower/defense to hang with the Heat in 7 games and both of those teams are in the West.

I can see the Knicks, Pacers or the Spurs beating the Heat in a 7 game series. The Nuggets however can't.

If all the Heat play, they have to send a message to NY tonight. Put their foot on NY's throat and make them believe they have no chance to beat them, ever. If the Knicks give them a game, or even win, confidence can go a long ways......if they meet up.

April 2, 2013  10:07 AM ET

Lawson's statement aside, the Nuggets do have a good chance to make the finals. They've beaten OKC 2-1 this season, with one win in OKC. And they've beaten at least once all other West contenders. It's a longshot as they don't have a lot of playoff experience, but still a chance.

Nuggets have a chance to win the West. They've beaten OKC 2-1, with one win in OKC. And they've beaten at least once all the other West contenders. They still have a shot at the #3 seed.
