08:21 AM ET 04.02 | Florida Gulf Coast's Andy Enfield has ridden a wave all the way to another sunshine state, this one at Southern Cal. Enfield completed his second season at FGCU in spectacular fashion, by leading the Eagles to the Sweet 16 with a running-and-dunking style that turned Fort Myers, Fla., into Dunk City, USA. It was, and still is, the story of this NCAA tournament -- one so good that it helped launch Enfield from the Atlantic Sun to the Pac-12. Also worth noting: This could multiply Enfield's salary by 10. The 43-year-old former NBA assistant made about $150,000 a year at FGCU. A source told CBSSports.com he will make around $1.5 million a year at Southern Cal.

I guess he really does understand the investment biz, Doc...

To think, Enfield could've gone to Minnie. Instead, he's stuck in LA smog with hot, dry weather, horrid traffic, earthquakes, wildfires, hill slides, and Mexican drug cartels. Poor guy. If he'd just been savvy, he could've been Andrew Zimmern's neighbor, with 6 month long winters, lutefisk dinners at the Lutheran church, Prairie Home Companion live at the Fitzgerald, and a former SNL writer for a Senator.

His wife surely looks ready for SoCal. But is he?

Hey, strike while the iron is hot. Can't blame the guy, can you?

I like this hire. There hasn't been a buzz around hoops since Harold Minor was in school. Welcome to SC Coach!!!

+1 Me thinks he'll play a style that will put butts in the seats...at least for while. If they win, they'll fill it up. If the lose and/or are mediocre, seats will be pretty empty again. But, like ICE said, at least there is a buzz now.

So, USC apparently has an unspoken policy of only hiring HCs with smokin' hot wives.

Personally, I am OK with that.
