Gaborik (or Richards) a goner

08:25 AM ET 04.02 | At this point of the season, there are no quick fixes for the Rangers. [The] smarter play in terms of player movement is to reevaluate once the season is over and weigh how much this maddening performance is really a byproduct of the shotgun-start season. Included in that evaluation must be whether John Tortorella is still the right coach for this group or whether his message has gone stale. ... [Brad Richards] must also occupy the organizational thoughts. The Rangers have one more amnesty buyout available, and Richards, 32, counts $6.667 million against the annual salary cap through 2020. Odds are Richards or Marian Gaborik, who has one season left in his five-year, $37.5 million deal, will be an ex-Ranger by next season.

If they were to amnesty Richards that would be really funny.

Under the Amnesty rule, if no one signs you, can you re-sign with the same team at a more sensible dollar figure?

OK? A ringing endorsement. Like the Wings are fantastically mediocre.

It was just the Mark Sanchez led Jets...

didn't mean it like that, sorry. I thought they looked good. Everyone played with fire and grit...though JT Miller needs to wake up. And someone needs to explain the appeal of Taylor Pyatt to me...

or fire the coach and see what these dogs can do when let off the leash...

How about Gaborik and Richards for Clowe? This would be meaningless trade and a washout for both teams but, at least both teams can say they did something.

unrelated hockey note...after watching the Hurricanes last night, I have to say that if THAT team makes the playoffs...and gets a 3rd seed...it will be an absolute travesty.

They are effing brutal.

Stick a cigar in Sathers mouth and put him behind the bench

JT is a kid, how can he when him and Kreider are up and down up and down.

Taylor Pyatt? How about Bryan Boyle, Powe and Halpern? Explain these moves to me?

We are basically at the cut-off for making the dance......I say cut everyone loose and play river hockey the rest of the way. What's the worst that can happen? We are a bubble team as it is.
