01:19 PM ET 04.02 | Former New England Patriots VP of Player Personnel Scott Pioli is a big fan of Tom Brady and his contract extension with the team. Pioli was on Sirius XM NFL Radio on Monday and was asked about the difficulties of building a team over a long period of time. He responded with glowing praise regarding Brady's decision to move some money around for the team's success. He said "In the case of the Patriots, you have to hope you have players like Tom Brady, who are willing to take less to spread out more amongst their team." Pioli also noted that Brady may not be paid among the absolute top quarterbacks in the NFL, when Brady is pretty much indisputably among those players. He cites huge contracts given to Joe Flacco by the Baltimore Ravens and Tony Romo by the Dallas Cowboys.

Here's the difference.... Flacco lost players because of his big payday.

There's no question that Brady is the Man, but he has gotten well deserved contracts in the past and Pats did cut Players, how can you deny or criticize the Ravens for paying Flacco after 5 seasons, Romo hasn't won a Super Bowl and I understand that, but Flacco has not only taken his team to a Super Bowl Victory but won at least one playoff game 5 years in a row! Until he doesn't go to the playoffs, Flacco has to be respected for his accomplishments!

Belichick may as well retire when Brady decides to.

But is he getting ROMO MONEY? He's the elite of the elite!!

Very good possibility.

Another congressman from Washington misrepresenting the facts and spewing misinformation. Flacco's cap number in 2013 is $6.8M. Brady's is $13.8. In 2014 Flacco and Brady are both at $14.8M. Those are the facts - not too hard to find if you look. So it would appear that Flacco's payday had nothing to do with the players the Ravens let go or decided were not worth the price.
