02:33 PM ET 04.02 | It is finally official: Carson Palmer is headed to the Arizona Cardinals. The Raiders traded Palmer and a seventh-round draft pick to the Cardinals in exchange for a sixth-round selection and a conditional 2014 seventh-round draft pick . The Raiders will receive the 2014 pick if Palmer starts 13 games of the 2013 season. This trade had been in the works for days and when the Raiders traded for Matt Flynn on Sunday, it spelled the end of Palmer's time in Oakland. As part of the trade to Arizona, Palmer agreed to sign a new contract that pays him $16 million over two years, with $10 million guaranteed. Palmer was scheduled to make $13 million with the Raiders in 2013.

He's not Kurt Warner.

He's not Vinny Testaverde!!!

He is a more expensive and older version of Kolb.

The Cardinals will be steady with him, just not over the hump.

So....AZ has QB issues and they target him??? Yeah, that'll fix it...

April 2, 2013  03:46 PM ET

Look out for AZ now!!!

as the slip farther and farther down the drain.............

So, if he is their starter the Raiders get a 7th round pick for him next year. Of course a 6 pick this year. sorry, but that is funny.

Finally somebody who can throw Larry the ball...

April 2, 2013  04:42 PM ET

Wow! Did anyone else see this coming? It's like a bolt out of the blue! Why didn't the interns have their ears to the ground to let us know before this bombshell dropped, huh?

They exchange a 6th for a 7th so basically they move up thirtysomeodd spots and if he reached and if he hits certain totals a 7th next season so basically nothing. Raiders fans say thanks Hue

Which means they paid less than the Niners did for McCoy

I feel bad for Larry Fitzgerald. At least he got to play a couple of years with a real QB.

April 2, 2013  05:11 PM ET

I'd have to laugh if he had a dynamite season.

it won't happen, but it would be really funny nonetheless.

It just keeps getting better for us Cardinal fans. So you're putting Palmer, who has no mobility, behind the worst offensive line in football. Oh! and you dumped Beanie and added the injury prone and sometimes attitude-poor Rashard Mendenhall to run the ball.

How could this possibly go wrong?

0-16.
