Mark Letestu extended by Blue Jackets

04:38 PM ET 04.02 | The Columbus Blue Jackets have extended the contract of forward Mark Letestu, according to an announcement by the team. Letestu was playing in the final year of a two-year, $1.25 million contract and would have been an unrestricted free agent this July. The extension is a two-year, $2.5 million contract that carries an annual average value of $1.25 million against the salary cap. He is averaging 16:28 of ice-time per game, which includes an average of 1:18 on the power play and 2:20 on the penalty kill (second most on the team). Letestu has proven to be a valuable asset in the face-off circle as he has won 52 percent of his draws this season.

Wonder why the Pens gave up on him, he was almost playing for free compared to some of the other players.
