04:48 PM ET 04.02 | The Toronto Maple Leafs are expected to directly contact Calgary Flames goaltender Miikka Kiprusoff, according to Darren Dreger of TSN. Dreger reported on Monday that Calgary had given Toronto permission to speak with Kiprusoff. Maple Leafs general manager Dave Nonis engaged in discussions with Kiprusoff's agent Larry Kelly and is now expected to do the same with Kiprusoff. Toronto has expressed interest in acquiring a veteran goaltender to work with James Reimer. In addition to Kiprusoff, Vancouver Canucks goaltender Roberto Luongo has been mentioned as a possibility.

If Miikka plays the way he has been, then the Leafs will find themselves on the outside looking in.

The only mildly interesting part is what will Little Davey give up?

I think he's doing it on purpose. He doesn't want to go anywhere. He just wants to Finnish the season where he is and go home with his growing family.

No kiding..a team wants to upgrade..not downgrade..and Kipper's been playing like he wants out of the NHL...I dont even think he's an AHL caliber goaltender, let alone an NHL tender.

kinda reminds me of all this clowe madness.

with my luck clowe will be sporting bleu-blanc-rouge...

Just gonna repeat what i've said all week: If you get in guys who can stop the ridiculous number of pucks from getting to the net, your goalie who already has a .920 save percentage will be just fine.

DL, PLEASE get down to the ACC and take the damn phone out of Nonis' hand
