05:07 PM ET 04.02 | Florida Atlantic will decline a $6 million gift from the controversial GEO Group. The GEO Group is a for-profit prison corporation that has dealt with numerous allegations of misconduct and mistreatment of prisoners and would have had its name attached to the team's football stadium. At least five dozen organizations delivered an opposition letter and student protestors demonstrated against the proposed arrangement. FAU's school president declined comment from the moment the news was announced and the outcry has apparently led to the withdrawal of the gift.

I'm not sure how I feel about this issue. Are naming rights substantially different than naming a school building after a donor? In this particular case, the issue is not naming rights, per se, but whose name.
