Everything in limbo for Clippers

07:46 AM ET 04.03 | Much has changed for the now-49-26 Clips since a 32-9 start. There is so much at stake for the Clippers. [Chris Paul] is an unrestricted free agent at season's end, and while all indications are that he's going to make L.A. his permanent home, no one from Clipper Darrell to Billy Crystal to [NBA Superfan] Jimmy Goldstein is going to be comfortable until Paul signs a deal. This is a team built to win now, with Paul running the show. Everything is in limbo until then -- including the future of Coach Vinny Del Negro, in the last year of his deal. Del Negro gets high marks, according to a source, for dealing with the team's injuries all season. But the Clips' fortunes in the playoffs could well determine his fate.

If Chris Paul can't play for the Knicks, he'll stay with the Clippers.

This is a team built to win nowSee I don't see this at all.other than having a bunch of wing veterans, how is this team built to win now? Blake isn't in his prime years yet and they have no toughness up frontThey are dangerous cause of paul, but they have several areas that need upgrading before i'd say they were ready to win now

Agreed.
And when Paul is resting, they seem to be out of sync for the most part.
They never run the floor the right way at all, they get overly excited.
It's like Paul has to be on the floor 48 minutes....
Bledsoe is a darn good defender and athlete but the clipps would be better with Calderon as a backup.

Everything in limbo for Clippers...

Don't tell Mecca or the other two Clippers fans (that recently came out of the woodwork) that this team is and always will be, well...

The Clippers!

Crossing finger! CP3 and Dwight teaming up... Could happen...

My fingers are crossed too, but I see CP3 in Purple/Gold for another three seasons or so.

ummmmm come to Detroit.......bro? Ok ok I almost punched myself for writing that

April 3, 2013  09:20 AM ET

They can beat Memphis but not Denver. Second round exit at best

Even out of the woodwork I have been stating that we are, at best, a one and done team this year. A bunch of older guys mixed with CP & BG. Future is not bright Lob City.

How about this:
CP3, JR, Melo, BG32 and Ty Chan. Could this team win a title?

Wasn't picking on you bro, just having fun... Since the Lakers winning a title is pretty much not going to happen this year, being an Angeleno... I'd love to see the Clippers hoist The Larry O'Brien and adorning the Staples Center rafters with another banner.

Nothing like an L.A. victory parade!

Hells to the yeah...

The Clippers peaked too early. They can force their will on a team but it is not based on half court basketball. CP3 probably stays because he doesn't have a better option where cap space and team is setup waiting. I think he wants to win in LA. The best he can hope for trades would be Dwight and him in Dallas which is slim chance, or Jefferson and him in Dallas which is just ok probably a slight upgrade than the Clips. The only way he can get to the Knicks would be if Amare retired because Amare can't be traded.

Win now?? Not quite; they're still a player or 2 short.

And if they re-sign CP, they have no $ to make improvements.

Get rid of Odom and C-But and that would clear $16 mil. But, yeah, we not going anywhere for a while.
