Nick Foles believes he can be Eagles' starting QB

03:46 PM ET 04.03 | Given new Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly's predisposition toward the read-option spread offense, many have wondered how quarterback Nick Foles fits into the equation. Speed was a prized commodity for Kelly at Oregon, and Foles is not known for being particularly fleet of foot, at least not when compared to the likes of Michael Vick or potential Eagles rookies Geno Smith and E.J. Manuel. Foles isn't worried, however, at least not outwardly. He told reporters Wednesday that he believes he can win the Eagles' starting job next season, regardless of his foot-speed. "Whoever's the quarterback of your team, you build your offense around them,'' Foles said. "I feel like I can go in and run anything. I'm here to compete. Everybody's here to achieve the same goal and that's to win.''

D'OH!

Scratch that from the record...

He's too tall and too slow. But it'll give him a big advantage when he's holding the clipboard. The starting QB will be able to see him easily from the field.

I am pretty sure that if I put on my red slippers, click my heels twice and say there is no place like home, etc., that I will soon be in Kansas.

Gary Kubiak wrote the book on it.

Foles played really well down the stretch.

Chip Kelly's going to ignore that and find the Eagles yet another QB who is all feet and no arm. Sounds like more of the same ole crap to me.

I have this weird feeling that Vick isn't gonna be the Eagles' starting quarterback by the time Week One rolls around.

Of course he does.

Yeah, and JaMarcus Russell says he can pass a Krispy Kreme without buying 3 dozen to go.

Next.
