More questions with Lincecum, too

08:12 AM ET 04.04 | Tim Lincecum's debut added another layer of buzz to an already charged edition of Dodgers-Giants. "It's really satisfying for us," Lincecum said. "Obviously we wanted to come in here and make a statement in our first series after winning the World Series. A lot of guys were looking forward to this series. I know I was personally." Lincecum provided no definitive answer to the big questions surrounding him: He pitched horridly enough to match his career high with seven walks but well enough to hold the Dodgers to three hits and two unearned runs. He qualified for a win only after manager Bruce Bochy walked to the mound with two outs in the fifth to make sure he was OK.

Picking up where he left off?

Winning a series in April is great Tim, but there is another series starting Friday, and 159 games to go.

His ball looked lively, but it was just a little too lively.

"Horridly enough"

Wuu...uu. Scary.

The Lincecum-Beckett show was quite the stinkfest. One stunk a little less.

I was rooting for Lincecum all the way. He may have lost his way, but he didn't squander his talent like ;:&@?'><%^+ Beckett.

That was typical Beckett though. At least the one I saw last season in Boston.

It was ugly, but effectively ugly. I'll take that.

He's going to lose a lot more games than he wins walking 7.

Just match him up against Beckett and he'll be fine.

That's enough for now. Maybe he's got a new learning curve as he has to figure out now how to survive with what he can do?

He was awesome in the playoffs last year.

April 4, 2013  01:05 PM ET

The Giants dodged a freight train sized bullet when Lincecum passed on the extension he was offered.

He didn't look that good last night, but he wasn't atrocious either. The BB's were the worst part of the night for him.

I'll be very curious to see how his next couple starts go, that's for sure.

No championship without his relief pitching last year. Stand-up guy who didn't complain and locked in to the job he was given. I think that speaks to his character as a team player.

Not to mention, he's a burner. Gotta love it.

But he did suck through out the year ...

April 4, 2013  03:01 PM ET

The difference this year is that Lincecum worked himself out of the bad situations... That is a positive, but the walks were scary. Timmy seems to be hanging to that "torture"...

He finished strong though and was a big reason they won another Championship ...
