08:26 AM ET 04.04 | Why is Roberto Luongo still in Vancouver? [Luongo] blames his $64-million contract. "My contract sucks. It's a big factor in trading me and why I'm still here," Luongo said after the NHL's annual trade deadline passed at noon Wednesday. "I'd scrap it now if I could." So for the rest of the regular season and playoffs, Luongo will continue to share goaltending duties with Cory Schneider, who has supplanted him as the team's top goaltender. ... The Canucks' talks with the Toronto Maple Leafs about Luongo reportedly went down to the wire, but didn't result in a deal. "It's been an emotional ride the last year," Luongo said. "I think it's more the unknown that has gotten to me more than anything else."

Well, he wouldn't want all the effort that went into writing them to be wasted.

Mike Gillis would be singing ' Thank you very much, Mr. Roberto'

Nah. You're of more noble stock than that, Bishop. I'm sure you'd give all to charity.

I just can't. And i'll give Gary credit on one thing - he warned the owners, these backloaded deals, you're gonna PAY for them. He gave them very fair warning.

Oh, yes! The Canucks will pay ... and pay ... and pay ... and pay for what? Another 7 or 8 years?

You'd think DiPietro and Yashin would've proved to be powerful object lessons but ... they never learn, do they.

He was speaking metaphorically, Spiny. You know, the incredible burden of being filthy rich. It's just plumb hard to have all that money to yourself. And, not being the selfish type, he's quite willing to embrace the burden that life so unfairly imposed on him.
