Teams taking Russell's comeback seriously

08:03 AM ET 04.05 | You very likely remember the name, and, if you're an NFL franchise, he'd probably prefer you didn't remember his game. This from an NFC scout when asked about the formerly fat mess known as JaMarcus Russell: "I've been following his comeback story pretty closely. I think a lot of teams are. Good chance he gets a second shot." Whoa. What? You mean some teams think Russell has a legitimate shot, at a second shot? It sure sounds that way. ... After the Oakland Raiders dumped Russell, many team executives said he would never play professional football again. That could still be the case, but it seems teams are willing to give one of the great draft failures another look. A serious look.

That's awesome! Now go away and turn to dust.

I think vicknick is merely suggesting what Russell should really be doing with his time. No, not how to make money - how to troll.

Somebody previously mentioned what's happening here. There are multiple teams desperate for a QB and the free agent pool and draft class are really weak this year. If Jamarcus gets under 280 and doesn't get himself arrested, some team will take a shot on him.

Yes, seriously. Comedy is not funny.

Is this never named NFL scout the same one who recommended the Raiders take him first? And how does JeMistakus change his given equation of there "just aren't enough good quarterbacks in the league.?"

I've been following his comeback over on the Bleacher Report site. He's all in and has made alot of progress, but still has a ways to go. I think he deserves another look, what's the harm? People always talk about forgiveness and second chances, but when it comes time to put up people don't practice what they preach.

Down under 280? LMAO Try 240, that would show he's actually committed, but still won't rectify the fact he's got nothing between his ears. Good luck to anyone who signs this clown.

280lbs? Maybe he should go back up to 300lbs and come back as a DT.

Fact is the dude has athletic talent...if he can get the head game together he can be a quarterback in the NFL period. If he earns a second chance, someone will likely give it to him on an incentive based (if that) short term non-guaranteed flyer hoping to hit the jackpot.

he was just entitled and mid-20's and rich with nothing to do...a lot of time to do nothing

If JarJar comes back, everyone else moves up one notch.

Raiders old regime saw JMac light up ND (who still don't belong on the same field as an SEC team) and gave him 60 Million. JMac then cashed his check and proceeded to shut it down amid rumors he couldn't read the playbook. Even if he weighed 235, he probably doesn't have the IQ for pro football. Similar story of Tebow except he has a work ethic.

No, seriously folks, honest, really, stop laughing, not kidding either.
