05:19 PM ET 04.05 | Charles Woodson may have been one of the top safeties in the league in his prime, but that doesn't guarantee him a job in 2013. Woodson is still a free agent, and there was talk a few weeks ago about the 49ers possibly picking him up. However, based on comments he made to the NFL Network on Friday morning, Woodson seems pessimistic about joining San Francisco. "I was up there three or four weeks ago and they let me get out of there, so that wasn't a good sign so I don't know if that is going to happen or not," said Woodson. Woodson, a 14-year veteran, was drafted by the Raiders and spent eight seasons in Oakland before moving on to Green Bay. He was the NFL's Defensive Rookie of the Year in 1998. He has received numerous accolades throughout his career as an eight-time Pro Bowler, seven-time All-Pro member, and Super Bowl champion. Woodson was also the AP Defensive Player of the Year in 2009.

They don't call, they don't write, they don't send me flowers....I'm broken hearted...

The niners have picked up just about every veteran castoff available so far, so why not Woodson as well?

Your to old Charles. Time to call it a career. Get into coaching. You got nothing more in the tank. Give it up.

Someone will call during exhibition games when season ended injuries occur.
