07:35 AM ET 04.06 | Josh Hamilton is playing for a new team, the Angels, and he has a new five-year, $125 million contract. So far, though, life as the Angels' No. 32 hasn't been much different than his final days as the Rangers' No. 32. In his final 17 at-bats as a Ranger, he got two hits and struck out eight times. In his first 16 at-bats as an Angel, is his 1-for-16 with eight strikeouts _ including his 0-for-4, two-strikeout performance Friday in his return to Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. Oh, and as expected he heard plenty of boos Friday, like his last game as a Ranger, the 5-1 Wild Card loss to Baltimore last Oct. 5. "I can't say that I didn't expect it," Hamilton said of the boos. "I will never take back what I said, until they show up every night (to boo) for 30 years. But I'm glad I can help create spirit and fire in this town. Honestly, man, that was louder than any playoff game I've ever been to. So I'm excited for them about that. Hopefully the fans can carry that on through the season for them."

They weren't booing him when he helped get them to 2 WS's. How quickly they forget.

Fans are fickle, Red Sox fans included. It's definitely about what have you done for me lately.

I think it is more about the things he said. even if true, you do not say it. Things like " It is not a baseball town" true, but they were third in attendance, and the fans that paid to go there sure are baseball fans. " I don't owe them any hometown discount"...OK, but just keep it to your self, they did stick with him through drug and alcohol rehabs and lapses.

The vision thing last year he blamed on too much caffeine and energy drinks? who knows. He brought a lot of this on himself.

Hamilton is such a hypocrite! I've never seen a guy quit like he did last year. The Angles were absolutely stupid to give him that much money for THAT length of time. He and Pujols will be so over the hill in the next couple of years it won't be funny!

Plus, he killed a fan....

Josh hamilton will always be hamilton's,,,, that doesn't mean he would hit tonds of homeruns for the anemic angels lineup,,

apparently the fans are a two face fans, when you add alot of production, fans says thanks, but when the player wrecked actions he (hamilton) turn upside down his good reputation in texas,,,,,,

well, the halos are well known for the type and the quality in their Generosity, that doesn't mean those players will help them any time soon,,, Pujols can careless, and Hamilton its just doing the same thing as Pujols,,

April 6, 2013  11:28 AM ET

the angels well regreted their dumb moves in the off season,,Hanson has lose velocity in his pitching arm/Blaton has proved to halos that indeed he is the replacement for ERVIN SANTANA,, likke he (BLATON ) will lead the league in the angels rotation in homeruns gived,,,,

April 6, 2013  11:29 AM ET

the angels will need to replace their hitting coach, plus their pitching coach hasn't fix the starters and the bullpen at all!!

April 6, 2013  11:38 AM ET

The Majority of the halos lineup hitters, are desperate in either get on base or get back to the bench,, they still can't understand WHY they are weak in their letargy offense,,
the halos hitters had forgot the basics,(Discipline at the plate) (Patience at the plate) (agressiveness at the plate)the angels hitters will be the kings in strikeouts this season, why? because they aren't selective at all, they swing at anything and at everything,, should somebody let them know their are so terrible at the plate??? can't the (hitters) workout the ccount against the opposite pitcher? for once and for all?
most starters are pitching deep seven inning in the game with 80 pitch ccount, while the halos starters are done in the fifth inning with a 100 pitch count, where is the logic???

April 6, 2013  11:39 AM ET

angels had have forgotten the basics regardless if the are playing tough lineups or soft lineups, no team can win games with such **** lineup!!

April 6, 2013  11:41 AM ET

If the angels lineup continue playing hesitants and careless baseball games, they would find themselves at the botton of their division sharing the same spot with the astros,,,

April 6, 2013  11:42 AM ET

halos are worse than last year, did they really trade away Santana?? doubtfull santana changed his name,,now he calls himself BLATON!!!

April 6, 2013  11:44 AM ET

Mike Sciocia, should bench Hamilton,/bench Mark Trumbo,/ bench Pujols/ the three comined for almost the 36 strikeouts in the reds stadium,,, 6 lousy hits in texas made them look like they weren't at the texas stadium at all,,

April 6, 2013  11:46 AM ET

Sciocia Would need to play Peter Bourjos more often IF he really want bourjos to be discipline and agressive at the plate!!!!

April 6, 2013  11:48 AM ET

Bullpen can't hold leads, and with the halos anemic offense there are going to be more than 60 games one run lose, all thanks to the very PASSIVE offense in angels roster!!!

April 6, 2013  11:51 AM ET

Should we start to look who its to blame?? because really angels are more tired than the minor leaguers,,, can't believed the minor leaguers did played the best spring trainning this off season ,,Sciocia stated,,the regular hitters are more than ready and they DO NOT need no more than 20 at bats,,, wonder WHY they still hitting worse than the minor league system,,,,
