10:15 AM ET 04.07 | David Nonis made two phone calls at 3:05 in the afternoon Wednesday, just after the NHL trade deadline had expired. The calls were to his goalies, James Reimer and Ben Scrivens. He assured them they weren't going anywhere and told them neither had been offered in any deals talked about ... While neither goalie was offered in any deal, the Vancouver Canucks did ask for Ben Scrivens and an assortment of draft picks in the deal they were willing to do for Roberto Luongo. The Leafs asked the Canucks to take back a significant portion of Luongo's salary because the Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment board shared Luongo's view of his own contract. But the Canucks said no: Hence no deal was made.

Confirmed. I now have to purge my hard drive to erase the fact I went on the Sun's website before someone notices...

It would be embarrassing if your mom saw it. ;-)

Its gonna be a huge embarrassment when they end up just dumping the Loubot on to waivers and no one grabs him.

It just blows my mind Gillis hasn't clued into the fact he's going to have to buy out Luongo to get rid of him. I don't get how he hasn't figured out whoever takes him off his hands is doing him a favour and that he is offering no value in this exchange.

He's like those idiots on Kijiji who want $400 and for you to take over the 2 years left on their smartphone contract.

He won't buy him out but they will have to subsidize a trade I figure a mil 1.5 a season for 3-4 seasons
