A $3M storm brewing for Revis and the Jets

08:03 AM ET 04.08 | Yet again, a headline finds Darrelle Revis and the Jets at odds. This time, the issue is the offseason conditioning program, which begins April 15. Even though they may trade him before or during the April 25 draft, the Jets plan to enforce language in the star cornerback's contract that requires him to participate in the voluntary workouts to collect bonus money, sources said. Revis has been rehabbing his surgically repaired knee with his personal trainer in Arizona and, with an uncertain future, he'd prefer to stay there at least through the draft to focus on his rehab and avoid a potentially uncomfortable situation. ... [Revis won't be thrilled to start the conditioning program], but he has $3 million riding on it.

He shows up at all off ( 80% factors in there somewhere)season workouts or loses out on $3 million in bonuses. What storm? He will be there.

Is Revis really that big a deal where we have a new (old) story about him every day?

Does he seriously expect that he can stay in Arizona and still get his bonus? This guy lives in a fantasy world.

Revis in a "potentially uncomfortable situation", concerning a 3 MILLION dollar bonus...

At least Favre was significant. Revis is rapidly becoming irrelevant.

Revis will show up, of course. Nice forethought by the Jests, for once, to put that in the contract.

Only a trade will slow these Revis T&R threads.

This situation is ridiculous.

Being on the trade block or not, if you were given a bonus that requires you to be at work...you get your butt there.

They should just deal him and rid themselves of the cost while rebuilding.

I don't think the Jets are much interested in bending any rules for him right now. His personal trainer is not affiliated with the team. He will be there or he will forfeit some serious cash.

Easier said than done. "Dealing him" means that somebody else gets not only a headache but also the headache's contract, unless Revis is willing to re-negotiate. From this guy's history, he won't do that or if he does, he'll hold out and insist on more.

His productivity has been declining, and he's coming off an ACL tear. He's not worth it.

Good old Jets. They never cease to entertain. This could get interesting and will be fun to watch for sure.

$3 million storm? big deal, hurricane Sandy was over $50 billion.

That fool will be there...you can bet the ranch on that one...

Okay, here's the deal. I will go to the OT workouts in place of Revis for just 1.5 million dollars, and Revis can stay in Arizona.

That's just the kinda guy I am.
