08:14 AM ET 04.08 | It's not just Dexter Fowler's adjusted mechanics at the plate. There's something else at work here as well: security. Fowler received a two-year, $11.6 million contract, leaving him with one season of arbitration before free agency. For the first time, he believes he's part of the core going forward, not the pawn to land pitching. He told me early in spring that his talks with the front office provided confirmation that the Rockies wanted him here after a winter when the Twins, Phillies, Reds and Braves expressed trade interest. ... [The] idea of Fowler becoming an all-star no longer seems far-fetched. In fact, at this point, it would be a surprise if he isn't in New York for the Midsummer Classic.

Six games into the season and this Denver hack has Fowler already making the All-Star team.

If Tulo and CarGo can't stay healthy (which is likely) Fowler is obvious choice. He has has 2 good years now, and is in his prime. Hack or not, this could be the start of a breakout year that all have waited for.
