Bengals could move on without Andre Smith

05:05 PM ET 04.08 | The Cincinnati Bengals may be moving on from negotiations with right tackle Andre Smith. The team is interested in looking for a younger, cheaper replacement for Smith with their first-round pick in the upcoming draft, according to Pro Football Talk. Free agency hasn't been kind to the 26-year-old lineman. Initial reports of the Bengals working hard towards re-signing him seem to be an afterthought now. A few scouts recently called Smith "highly overrated" and Cincinnati may be thinking along the same lines, given the money he wants. Smith hasn't generated interest from other teams around the league, either. If the Bengals are content with letting him walk, he will have to bring his asking price down if he wants to sign elsewhere. Concerns of weight problems, poor work ethic, and inconsistent play are keeping teams from investing in Smith. He missed 21 games throughout his first three seasons in the league.

He's a Bengal. It's just a matter of time before he ends up in jail anyway.
