Rosenhaus: Reports on Gronkowski are 'way off'

05:27 PM ET 04.08 | Rob Gronkowski is dealing with an infection on his left forearm after surgery was needed to repair it back in February. Reports broke Sunday morning saying the Patriots tight end may need another surgery, which would jeopardize his chances of playing at the start of the 2013 season. However, Drew Rosenhaus, Gronkowski's agent, says that speculation is "way off," according to Ben Volin of The Palm Beach Post. No determinations have been made regarding Gronkowski's situation at this point. The plate he currently has in his forearm needs to be replaced, but if the tissue around it is infected, another procedure will be required after the infection clears. Initials reports claimed a fourth surgery would sideline him for at least 10 weeks, resulting in his absence for the season opener. Gronkowski re-broke his forearm during the divisional round of the playoffs against Houston. An infection set in after his second surgery, but it was caught early. New England will be fortunate if the new complication was discovered early enough. The Boston Globe reported the cause of the ongoing infection is unknown.

Of course there is no purer source for the truth than Drew Rosenhaus when he is speaking about his client.

My thoughts exactly. If Drew said it, it must be true, right?

Why would an agent lie?

Gee...who to believe? A doctor that didn't treat Gronkowski or an agent with no medical training who is paid to spin information in only one direction? Choking on data and starving for truth.

Indeed!, I couldn't have said it better.

The louder he talks the more I think Gronk has a real problem.

I'll admit that I was very tired of Gronk-a-mania, but this would be a horrible way for a football career to end. Hope that victory over the Texans was worth it, BB.

What a surprise, his agent says the reports are false.....Zzzzzzz....

How could anyone predict he would break the arm again like that? He was cleared to play and football players play football, so he wouldn't have sat on my bench either.

Now what he does when he isn't on the football field is another discussion entirely. It has nothing to do with a broken arm or an infection, but everything to do with conditioning. That's mainly where my questions are.

Because he has to open his mouth at some point.

No team I like better than the Pats but cheaters never prosper.

Remember that the original source of the story was "unnamed sources close to..." and reported by Ron Borges, that well-known plagiarizing friend of Bill...Belichick, that is.

Looks like we're all going to have to wait till Bill B gives us the low down.

So be prepared for a wait.

I thought Gronk was smarter than that...Rosenhaus??? I didn't know he had anyone worth a crap left in his client list. Everytime I hear something out of that guy's mouth I feel like I need to take a shower.

Seriously Gronk...people lose limbs and even die from post operative infections. They are extremely serious. Take care of your health young man...don't even think about football until you are healthy. God speed.
