Rockets ready to celebrate playoff return

06:24 PM ET 04.08 | Making the playoffs is a significant step for the Houston Rockets. For one, they're the youngest team in the NBA and entered the season as the least-experienced squad in the league as well. And though they've struck savvy trade deals behind the smarts of general manager Daryl Morey, the Rockets feel like the results have come quickly. Having recovered from several disappointing seasons in a row in the post-Yao Ming era, Houston is on the verge of locking up a playoff spot, and Morey told the Houston Chronicle that it's worth celebrating. "It would feel amazing," Morey said. "You definitely appreciate making the playoffs when you're not in for three years. It frankly doesn't feel like three years."

with a few more additions this could be a good team. They need to figure out power forward, they chew through them at an alarming rate. But Parsons, Harden and Asik are a solid core. Hope they can sign Parsons long term.

They already got the Power Forward slot figured out with rookie Thomas Robinson. Kid is gonna be a beast sooner rather then later. They just need a cheap veteran with decent production to add to it's core and they'll be good to go. Either that or do a sign and trade for Howard when he decides to finally leave LaLa Land by giving back Asik and a few scrubs.

Thomas has a lot to learn. The rockets have shown a willingness to move power forwards. As a rocket fan I hope that between Smith, Thomas, Motiejunas and Jones , one of them is a keeper.
