08:06 AM ET 04.09 | This isn't quite the kind of occasion that deserves celebrating, but next year marks the 50th anniversary since Boston hosted an NBA All-Star Game. [There] has been very little movement over the past several years on that front. With a shortage of NBA cities applying for All-Star Games because of the cost, Celtics owner Wyc Grousbeck told the Globe the club is considering filing an application. Grousbeck said he had a conversation with Jim Rooney, the executive director of the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority about taking steps in the process. "I spoke to Jim Rooney casually the other day about it," Grousbeck said. "And we've agreed it's something worth looking at."

QUOTE(#1):

LOL, nobody wants to host these parties on steroids. Nothing but a bling fest for the rap crowd. Yeah, Boston would really like that!

Well...seeing as how the NBA is almost 80% African American, I can see how the rap crowd would be attracted.

QUOTE(#2):

Wow......50 years? For a flagship franchise?That doesn't seem fair

It isn't about being "fair". Cities should "apply" to host the event, and most cities, including Boston don't. It is not a revenue generating event most times.

QUOTE(#9):

That's because Boston sucks.

Says the guy that won't even display his hometown.

The NBA might be 80 % african american , but the people that PAY the actual money to see the events are mostly Whiteys.
