08:13 AM ET 04.09 | Few coaches in college football lost as much talent as Mark Richt did from his defense at Georgia, including linebackers Jarvis Jones, Alec Ogletree and Cornelius Washington. In all, the 'Dawgs lost 12 players on defense who started at least two games for them in 2012. But a lot of talented defenders remain on the roster, including outside linebacker Jordan Jenkins and defensive ends Garrison Smith and Ray Drew. Jenkins, a rising sophomore who had four tackles and one sack on Saturday, should be the next standout pass-rusher for this program after registering five sacks and eight tackles for loss playing opposite Jarvis Jones last season.

We will see if his success was due to superior athleticism, or the good fortune of having Jones occupying the attention of the opposition.

Dawgs lost alot of experience, let's see if coaching can fill in that gap.

If you listen to the standard blather among Dawgs fans, Richt is a dick, the Dawgs choked in the SECCG, Bobo's an idiot, the Dawgs will under-perform to their potential in 2013 and lose games that they shouldn't. Now, if you venture such opinions or vocally agree with them while they're doing so, you're in for a fight.

It is all speculation. Remains to be seen what happens when they play teams with talent. Never was very impressed with Mark Reicht as a coach. Thought he was going to get fired last season but that easy schedule saved his bacon. SEC needs to get tougher schedule for both BAMA and the DAWGS. Make them EARN their was to any championship game. They have had it too easy for too many years.

It is a recurring barb aimed at friends who matriculated at UGA and repeated for the benefit of my daughter, SIL, and peers (All UGA grads).
