Tuesday or never for Flyers

08:18 AM ET 04.09 | The Flyers had reeled off four straight wins through Saturday to put the playoffs in their sights -- and then they lost in Winnipeg. If they make it two in a row on Long Island on Tuesday night, though, it will be an almost impossible row. ... [Since] Presidents Day, the two teams have gone in different directions: the scrappy Islanders are 13-8-3, while the Flyers are only 10-9-2. Tuesday night is the Flyers' biggest game on Long Island since 1987. The Flyers were 29-3-1 against the Islanders since 2007 before they blew a 2-0 lead on March 28 in a shootout loss. That point lost marks one of the five the Islanders hold in advantage over the Flyers for the East's final playoff spot.

All I know is that I'm keeping an eye on the linesmen and their offsides calls.

If that's in reference to Tonelli to Nystrom, no that was not offside.

They were in different zip codes they were so far offsides.

This is gonna be good. Two teams fighting for those last spots, or that last spot.

April 9, 2013  09:05 AM ET

Stop, already. They won't be and should not be in the playoffs

But, they were adjacent zipcodes...............be fair. :)

Isles finally have started playing well at home. It took them 20 games but they finally figured out that the blue jerseys are the home jerseys!!

Isles have a real shot to set their sites higher than just the 8th seed.

It's that pesky blue line separating them that's the issue :)

Not to bring up bad memories but you may want to watch the game 6 Stanley Cup OT winner one more time...the linesman was correct.

Too bad the game's on the island or Philly could have Elvis sing along with Kate Smith.

If that is so, then why did the offending linesman show up next season wearing a mustache as an attempt to disguise his identity??? Too many unanswered questions in this case lead to the inescapable conclusion that the Isles were offsides.

:)

Will they blow whatever stability the Bryz has left and start Mason for that game ?

April 9, 2013  10:20 AM ET

Either Nabokov has looked pretty consistent lately and gives them a legitimate chance to win each game.

*Either way

because most Philly fans have a long memory for this stuff. They can't tie their own shoes, but they remember this stuff and a rather unpleasant way of showing their displeasure....9early philly tweak)

Sheesh Spiny. You have to be a politician if you ever want to really be the Commissioner. Try my approach. Be two-faced. But sincere.
