12:45 PM ET 04.09 | After one season with the New York Jets, Tim Tebow isn't expected to stick with the team for much longer, as the team is expected to release the quarterback after the 2013 NFL Draft. Despite his impending release, which seems imminent, Tebow is expected to report to the Jets' facilities next Monday for the team's voluntary offseason workout program. Tebow, 25, was acquired by the Jets from the Denver Broncos in 2012 offseason along with a seventh-round selection in exchange for fourth and sixth-round picks; however, he made little impact during the 2012 season. As the Jets finished the season 6-10, including three consecutive losses to end the year, Tebow sat on the bench behind Mark Sanchez and Greg McElroy.

Man he just can't catch a break

Damn.... I'm starting to feel bad for ole Timmy... Let me see what's in my bank account right quick, for a reality check.

Cut him after the draft? No way! Who told you that?

Oh, yeah. That's what I said they'd do in the other Tebow thread of the day.

How about that? I'm now an unnamed ESPN news source.

Only the interns care (and Jets fans of course)!

Jets expected to release Tebow in a tank of piranah.

April 9, 2013  02:44 PM ET

Send him to DC; the 'Skins could use a guy to hold Rex Grossman's pencil while Grossman holds the playbook.

April 9, 2013  03:54 PM ET

I'd still love to watch him as a running back or tight end in a more fluid system than the typical NFL approach. Not quite the wildcat, maybe call it the powercat, where he's out there with another chceap QB every play.

If he'd take a pay cut, use him to block, run, catch, pass... with the other QB doing the same thing, and a full time RB who can take direct snaps or make the occasional short pass.

Almost every defense is built to collapse the pocket, get to the passer, stop the runner from breaking loose. But what do you do when three guys are doing that from different spots in the backfield? Even the fastest DEs can't fly.

April 9, 2013  04:08 PM ET

If he would have been a second or third and someone worked with him... or I forgot, Denver did work with him and got him special help with this throwing motion, I believe the Jets brought someone in also. Oh, well, there's always the Canadian league he can go screw up.

April 9, 2013  05:35 PM ET

The Jets have no clue what they are going to do....Keep him release him, no clue

Hell - it could have been reported by Jay Glazer and espen would have stolen it and taken credit for it.

I am no Tebow fan by any stretch of the imagination, but the Jets have coontinued to screw him over the past year. He'd be better off playing in Canada where he would at least be respected and enhance his skills!

April 9, 2013  10:46 PM ET

At least the Jets won't get anything for him if they release him, because he'd be a back-up anywhere they traded him.

It's about time his career in the NFL is above over. Had enough of Tebow this Tebow that and the circus he brings. Let him go back to preaching enough already.

April 10, 2013  01:56 PM ET

Rex did not want him and decided to not play him come hell or high water to stick it to the GM and Tebow. Now Woody wants something in return for a guy they traded for and did not play? Let him go and see if he can find a team that will give a chance. Wake up Jets no one will trade for Tebow.

if the jets would have actually committed to the ground and pound w/ timmy they would have done better w/ sanchez........that's not saying much but is worth noting nonetheless.
