01:12 PM ET 04.09 | The New York Giants have not closed the door on free agent running back Brandon Jacobs. There have not been any formal discussions between Jacobs and the team, but that they have not taken him off of their radar just yet, according to reports. Jacobs, who hit the free agent market when he was released by the San Francisco 49ers, has not had many visits this offseason. He's part of what was already a weak running back class and had almost no production in 2012 to help him find a job. Jacobs had just five carries for seven yards with the 49ers in 2012, playing in just two games. Prior to that, he had 571 yards and seven touchdowns for the Giants in 2011. Jacobs totaled 4,849 yards with the Giants between 2005-2011, with 56 touchdowns.

LOL!

April 9, 2013  01:21 PM ET

He's finished as a RB. Hope he saved his money.

He never should have left NY.

April 9, 2013  02:43 PM ET

Maybe they'll be taking him off their radar now that word is out that he wants to come back.

April 9, 2013  02:49 PM ET

If he thinks he was going to be underpaid before he left, he's in for a shock now.

April 9, 2013  03:26 PM ET

I believe that would be up to the Giants, not Jacobs....

Wow.. Now that's a short bus close up.

Just like Aaron Ross... all crawling back

April 9, 2013  10:37 PM ET

I guess they forgot that there was a reason the Giants let them go in the first place...

I bet Jim Harbaugh would have loved to have Jacobs in the Backfield, on their last series of downs in the Red Zone, that's where he excels, but Jimmy Boy lost his cool and threw him off the Team!!!

They wouldn't pay him what he thought he was worth when he wasn't worth it.
