08:12 AM ET 04.10 | Jamie Moyer threw out the first pitch in Seattle earlier this week, something that begged the question of whether he was truly done. "I haven't closed that door yet," Moyer said. ... "I'm enjoying my time at home at this point. I've got a college senior playing baseball. A college freshman starting at Pepperdine, playing baseball. ... I've got a daughter graduating from high school, going to college. Another daughter that's going to be a junior next year. And then I have two fourth graders and two first graders. So, I'm enjoying my time. And I've got a garden growing. I've got lettuce I'm eating now and micro-gardens. I'm excited about that. I've got some fruit trees going in. I've got a puppy."

Lettuce? Why do I hear "Serenity Now" echoing in my head?

April 10, 2013  10:29 AM ET

He's forgetting the fact that the reason why he's not playing is because he couldn't get anyone out. I doubt that's changed.

Moyer should focus and serve as a mentor in the minor league system, he has the capabilities to help polish new generations for the future!!!

Oliver and Tiger ;p

wiseup: Maybe Moyer hasn't ruled out return at 50,but there are probably about 30 ML baseball teams that have ruled out your return. Maybe as a coach or instructor in minor leagues. Other wise the only way you get into Major Leagues is to buy a ticket and sit in the stands.

I think you and I might be the only ones old enough to get that one. :) Forgot about Oliver. Thanks!

Well, he's got a puppy. That pretty much says it all. Enjoy retirement, you've earned it.
