08:19 AM ET 04.10 | Rather than hand over the job to senior-to-be and incumbent James Franklin, Gary Pinkel on Tuesday opened a three-man race to quarterback Missouri in the fall. Asked if anything stood out in the competition among [Franklin], sophomore-in-waiting Corbin Berkstresser and redshirt freshman Maty Mauk, Pinkel said, "Yeah -- we've got to keep getting better. All three of them did a lot of good things, and it's very competitive and it's also very, very positive, so I'm excited about it." ... The Tigers scrimmage again at 9 a.m. Saturday, then complete spring practice with the Black and Gold game a week later, but the starter may or may not be firmly established even then.

Pinkel's coach speak vs that of Butch Jones - Gary's trying to juggle the post-SEC-debut-debacle expectations of the Mizzou faithful and be supportive of all of his players. Butch is feeding the Interweb-fed low expectations for the Vols future football fortunes. His hope is that opponents will overlook UTK.

All of the above.

BTW, you Looozzzeeeeaaayyynnnnaaaa guy. Need to quit taking the "stupid money" from us Texans.
Showed results from a study yesterday in the Texas Legislature. Seems about 40% of all gambling revenue earned in LA comes from Texans. Same for OK. Only about 20% of NM's comes from Texans. NM may need to get a lesson from LA and OK.

We can surmise that West Texans are:
1. Too smart to waste their money in casinos,
2. Have no money to waste in casinos, or
3. There sren't enough West Texans to matter.

The drive "across the border" (meaning the Loozyana border) is an easy one for ALOT of the East TX population, and many of them are also either LA transplants (Katrina and prior as well) or are descendents of such -- not to mention many Texans just enjoy good Cajun food as a break from typical TexMex.

2 and 3 may be correct. No way 1 can be.

"Smart" and "West Texans" do not belong in the same sentence.

With ready access to West Texas Crude, you all should have the cheapest gasoline in the country.

Nope.

They gotta pipe all that crude over here to Houston to get it refined, then truck/pipeline it back. Houston should have the cheapest gas in the US of A, and it usually is pretty cheap comparitively speaking.
