02:52 PM ET 04.10 | The Montreal Canadiens have signed goaltender Peter Budaj to a contract extension, the team announced on Wednesday afternoon. The deal is reportedly for two-years and is worth a total of $2.8 million, which will come out to a $1.4 million annual average value against the salary cap. Budaj was playing in the final year of a two-year, $2.3 million contract and would have become an unrestricted free agent in July. Budaj was selected with the No. 63 overall pick in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft by the Colorado Avalanche. He signed with the Canadiens as an unrestricted free agent in 2011. In eight games this season, the 30-year-old goaltender has accumulated a 6-1-1 record with a 2.17 goals against average and .917 save percentage.

He had one decent year with the Avs but looks to be a capable backup.

Seems like he's found a home in Montreal...good for him..gonna suck for him come play-off time tho........seeing as how they're gonna be 1st round casualties.......

I think Hank and PK Chelios disagree with you.
