Florida D-Line coach resigns

04:39 PM ET 04.10 | Will Muschamp's staff loses a contributor, as defensive line coach Bryant Young has resigned from his job with the Florida Gators, citing personal reasons.

Muschamp made the odd choice of confirming that Young's choice has nothing to do with NCAA compliance issues, which is suspicious, but seemingly earnest.

Young, who played 14 years with the 49ers, has been with the Gators since 2011, working mainly with defensive tackles, including elite draft prospect Sharrif Floyd. Brad Lawing joined the staff in January as the team's associate head coach with defensive line duties, and appears to be the team's only coach at the position at the moment.

Uh-oh. The dreaded "spend more time with family" message comes out. Somebody may have done something they shouldn't have, with somebody they shouldn't have.

Wonder if Bobby Petrino needs a D-line coach...

Or, it truly could be family issues. Just grabbing some possibilities out of thin air - serious health problems for a family member, tragedy in the family, pregnant daughter....

He must have had an affair with a co-ed. That's usually what it is.

Maybe he didn't appreciate Muschamp bringing in another guy (Lawing) to help him with the D-line.

He was upset he was only getting $100 handshakes from Mus, and not the $400 handshakes.

No worries, TZ Man. Sometimes, it serves us better just to assume a humorous perspective for given posts.

I am guessing he will fade off the radar screen, straighten out whatever needs straightening, and get back on the field someplace.
