Egg Bowl moves to Thanksgiving

05:23 PM ET 04.10 | The Egg Bowl will once again be played on Turkey Day: Ole Miss and Mississippi State will play their annual rivalry game on Thanksgiving this year for the first time in ten years.

ESPN announced this year's rendition of the Egg Bowl will be played at 7:30 on Thanksgiving night. The schools played on Thanksgiving from 1998-2003 before abruptly stopping. That left college gridiron fans seeking football post-turkey with the Texas-Texas A&M rivalry, but with A&M's move to the SEC, that was replaced with Texas-TCU this past year - a similar vibe, but not quite the same.

Entering 2012, the Bulldogs had three in a row and four out of five in a rivalry where Ole Miss has historically had the upper hand, but the Rebels won 41-24 to end a season that started out with seven wins for Mississippi State. Hugh Freeze just signed one of the nation's best classes, and Ole Miss will try to turn one win into a streak on Thanksgiving in the 110th meeting between the two teams.

I make grits that even yankees eat. Put the sunny side up eggs on top and use the toast as a utensil to compliment your fork. Yeah, buddy!

Now THAT's good eating right there. Damm, now I'm hungry...

And thanks for keeping cheese out of the grits, what a bastardization that is! Grits need butter and salt and that's all.

When called upon, I can make cheese grits that'll make folks forget about mac 'n' cheese. With oh so many cheesaholics in my extended family, I have to "befoul" some grits with cheese or suffer wrath and consequences. For the larger gatherings, I just prepare a portion of each - grits, and cheesegritthingy (It's more than just stirring shredded cheese into hot grits).
