08:04 AM ET 04.11 | Roddy White has his sights set about as high as he can. [White] said Wednesday that for the first time since he's been with the Atlanta Falcons, the upcoming season will be looked at as "Super Bowl or bust." White, who was a guest on "ESPN First Take," discussed the Falcons' change in mentality after their NFC Championship Game loss to the San Francisco 49ers last season. ... "We're ready to take that next step. We know how good our football team is and the players we got, so it's either Super Bowl or nothing for us right now." He said the Falcons' offensive core of quarterback Matt Ryan, himself, receiver Julio Jones and tight end Tony Gonzalez are approaching the 2013 season knowing it's "Super Bowl or bust."

A Legend in his own Mind.

The Falcons are NOT an elite team. Good enough to get to the playoffs in a weak division, but that's about it.

$1000 bucks says he never winds a Superbowl, with the Falcons KC will give you have opportunity. And if he ever dunks on the KC goalpost again I'd like to see Dirty DT Shawn Smith rip his manhood off. Traitor.

He said that last year.

He should have stayed in KC and won his super bowl there, eh ?

It was right there in your mitts a couple of months ago, Roddy... and you blew it.

Niners and Seahawks are getting better.

I trust them to make the playoffs, but unless they show improvement and consistency during the regular season, it'll be another short trip.

So your saying the Falcons aren't a Super Bowl caliber team, but the Chiefs are? What kinda dope are you on and where can I get some? LOLOL

wiseup The Falcons will have to get past S.F. and Seattle first. Atlanta had their chance last year and came up short.

April 11, 2013  09:39 AM ET

I am NOT a Falcons' fan; however, I do live in the Atlanta area. And I must admit it nice to see this attitude from the team. Normally the Falcons were just thrilled to have a winning season. One would have thought they won the Superbowl a couple of years ago when they managed to have back to back winning seasons (for the first time in their history).

The attitude might not win the big game, but it's good to hear they have raised their goals.

April 11, 2013  09:41 AM ET

Get ready for nothing.

April 11, 2013  09:50 AM ET

Wasn't this the refrain chanted last year by the Falcons? Sounds like more of the same out of Atlanta next season.

Sorry Falcons, but the NFC road to the Super Bowl goes through the West now.

damn you Homey...where you been at?

Been busy. Wrapping up another semester in school, running a full-court press on the job hunt, and accompanying the mum around to her medical appointments. At this pace, I'm tempted to take the summer off!

Probably but both teams are looking at sophmore quarterbacks trying to top stellar years. We'll see what happens after defenses get an offseason to prepare.

Wow, wonder how the Falcons fans feel about the professional football team actually coming to a mindset of setting a goal to win the SB. Thought that was the goal of every team. Guess you learn something new every day. Bet Michael Turner would have liked to have known this prior to signing with them and wasting 5 years of his career with a team "just happy to make the playoffs".
