08:11 AM ET 04.11 | Wondering what got into Pau Gasol? During a timeout in Tuesday's game against New Orleans, Kobe Bryant had a talk with [Gasol]. "I basically told him, dude, especially when I'm not in the game, you just gotta go to the block and not move," Bryant recalled. "When I'm out there, I can slow the game down, call plays off, and just give it to him -- but if I'm not, then listen, you just gotta go to the block and not move." ... [Bryant] apparently decided to put an end to all plans for Gasol but his own. "That's my dude," Bryant said. "I know what he brings to the table. He's 2010 Pau." That means no more threes. That means goodbye elbow. That means farewell to the passive facilitator role.

Monster game by the Mamba. Pau and Dwight also had great stats. Pau almos had a triple double with high percentage in FG. Dwight was 9 of 11 in FG. Even after all of that, the Lakers had a hard time putting the short handed Blazers away. That Spurs and Rockets game will be big. Looks like the Spurs might come to play because they lost last night.

So Kobe has become the go to scorer plus the point guard and now the coach. Whatever it takes to win.

According to Elias Sports, Bryant is the first player with at least 47 points, eight rebounds, five assists, four blocks and three steals in an NBA game.

According to Elias Sports, Bryants 47 point, five assist, three steal night made him the third player (since steals became an official statistic in 1973 74) to go for 45 plus points, five plus assists and three plus steals at the age of 34 or older. The other two players to accomplish that feat? Larry Bird (March 15, 1992) and Michael Jordan (Dec. 31, 2001).

Has he been playing the whole game? Playing more then 42 minutes a game is not good.

He is trying hard to keep his promise. The Jazz will have something to say to that.

I thought he was gonna go for 60 last night lol. If the Blazers were to use the Hack-a-Dwight, Lakers would have lost since the game was so close.

Somebody needs to coach the team. The guy in the suit isn't doing so well in the position.

I don't get how ANYONE has anything negative to say about melo when kobe single handidly destroyed this whole title contending season for the lakers. Everyone is saying kobe had a great game last night?? Really? dwight was like 11-13 20 pts 10plus boards. so why did kobe take over 30 shots when there was no one to hold dwight down so why not keep feeding him the ball. Kobe didn't have to do what he did. He makes it harder on himself. I don't get it???

Big showing by Kobe and the Lakers as a whole, nice to see some fight in them.

It's out of their hands now. The Lakers just have to win their final 3 games.

You think that'll happen?
