08:16 AM ET 04.11 | With all the talk of a Wrigley renovation, there's an image that may need a reno in Chicago, too. The Cubs are gathering information on a bench-clearing incident involving Jorge Soler, their $30 million Cuban investment playing at Class A Daytona. Soler's bat-grabbing outburst in Daytona caught fire on Twitter late Wednesday night and wound up on Deadspin and all across the Internet. ... Soler ran from first to second on a groundball, slid into the base and had Clearwater infielder Carlos Alonso land on him awkwardly. Moments later, both benches emptied. The 6-foot-4, 215-pound Soler took a bat from the Daytona dugout and motioned toward the other side.

Be a man....fight with your hands....then again baseball fights are usually pretty lame....so maybe weapons are needed to spuce them up a bit......:)

Just what the Cubs need: A talent who's a headcase. I'm sure this will work out really well.

A different game in Cuba, it seems.

wiseup: The Cubs instructors should teach him the proper use of the bat. The instructors should teach the rest of the Cubs the proper use of the bat. Soler needs to grow up. What will he do when he is hit by a pitch. Charge the mound with the bat.

Maybe he's the heir apparent to Carlos Zambrano.

The story went on to say:

"Fortunately, in typical Cub fashion, he didn't hit anything"

Or something like that....

homeboy is walking with a wider stance b/c of the brass balls he carries or a few marbles upstairs. either way defecting from Kooo-buh, doubt he's afraid of much.....plus he's hitting .435 in this very young Class A season.

April 11, 2013  11:22 AM ET

At last a Cub player who seems like he WANTS to hit!

April 11, 2013  11:35 AM ET

Was he going after the other team's Gatorade cooler?

April 11, 2013  11:50 AM ET

Juan Marichal is his role model.

I was thinking Milton Bradley, but either one seems to work.

Better take the hood out of him before you go too much further with him. If he doesn't change his attitude about people he will end up selling drugs for a living. We have enough of those people and don't need to bring them into this country. Oh, that's right, we still have obama as president so bring in all the illegals and criminals so long as they agree to vote democrat.
Never put a capital o in front of obama or capitalize president as the fool does not deserve it.

He's from Cuba...what do you expect? I say a beanball right in the chin should do the trick. I already hate the guy and he's not even in the Majors. Makes it so much easier since I hate the Cubs too.

Cubs rookie mess up his mind, you can't act without thinking clearly!!!
