Frustration taking hold in Ottawa

08:22 AM ET 04.11 | The stretch run hasn't been kind to Ottawa, which has lost five straight but still sits on the good side of the playoff race -- at least for now. [Senators] players can feel the pressure mounting in the Eastern Conference playoff race. "It's frustrating. When you get frustrated, you grip your stick tighter or whatever. We have to get our swagger back, if that's what you want to call it," said forward Chris Neil on Wednesday morning. The Senators did not hit the ice in Philadelphia on Wednesday, opting for an off-ice workout at the team's hotel instead. A lengthy practice probably would not help the Senators right now, as many of their problems appear to be mental at this stage of the game.

3 teams tied for the 6 spot, Ottawa has a game in hand on both (NYR and NYI)

If anyone actually cared about OTT, there would be many comments like "OTT is TOR v. 2013"

And TOR did not help them last night with yet another pathetic SO exercise in futility., hading NYR another point.

OMG it is painful to watch TOR in shootouts. Why do they even bother? Just award the other team the extra point and hit the showers

More importantly, two games in hand on the 9th place team.

I feel the same way about the Rangers' power play...they should just decline the penalty

Yeah but his in-game play was good, which is all I really give a flying eff about because shootouts are for cowboys, not hockey players.

The ACC will never be known as the OK Corral.

lucky that none of the outside teams seem to want to make the playoffs either. overall, some bad hockey being played around the 8 seed.
