Scouts worried about Votto

08:15 AM ET 04.12 | Good hitters can feel themselves coming along, even if the results aren't quite there to support the optimism. Through nine games, in fact, [Joey Votto] has only two extra-base hits. One of them came Wednesday when he drove a ball into left for a double. So without much production to prove he's back, Votto offered some words of encouragement. "I'm getting there," he said. "I'm getting there." ... Nonetheless, scouts are starting to worry about him. "He's going to opposite way almost all the time," one NL scout said. "He's really not driving the ball. We haven't seen the raw power even in batting practice. It makes you wonder about the knee." Votto says the knee is not a problem.

He'll be fine.

Last I checked 162 minus 9 equals 153 games to go. Let's come in off of the ledge. As much as I hate to say it because I'm a Brewer fan and we're his bitc%$'es, he's too good of a hitter to stay on this pace.

Eighteen days ago, the Cincinnati Enquirer ran this piece, http://news.cincinnati.com/article/20130324/SPT04/303240108/Joey-Vott o-Good-spring-training-numbers-very-deceiving-, about how amazing his spring training numbers are.

Scouts worried about Votto? i think the angels would need the Scouts to worried about the whole Halos roster!!!

April 12, 2013  12:16 PM ET

The Halos are about to run through the Astros, but should the halos lose a single game against the houston franchise??? likey the halos could be cutting off some people in the front office!!!

Votto hasn't hit stride yet. Votto is known for going to left a lot. Even with power. He waits back and with quick hands swings and thus hits ball to left. Even Jay Bruce has been hitting ball to left this year. Before defence would put a shift on Bruce to hit pull ball to right Scouts are worried about nothing Bruce has yet to hit a homerum. They will come.

but, the Scouts aren't talking about Jay Bruce or halos rather VOTTO its the whole subject here!!

Votto is still getting on base he has been walked alot any time Votto comes up with firstbase open they intentionaly walk him his obp is around .500 as is Choo. that is one reason why the reds haven't been running Choo.

Votto is running well , going from first to third with ease. Problem is pitchers aren't giving him much to hit. He has 17 walks as of 4/13. on 4/14 votto hit his first homerun, a drive to straight away centerfield in Pitts.

Didn't Votto already get a big guaranteed contract? Yes he did, so why should he be worried about his production now?

Running is different than pivoting @wiseup...I could sprint when my ACL was torn and ran a 6:42 mile, but I couldn't take an AB. Not saying anything in there is torn, but the knee could definitely be a source of issues. I too think he will be fine, but it is something to watch.
