Leafs fear no East playoff opponent

08:27 AM ET 04.12 | Down the stretch they come, and the Leafs like their chances come playoff time. Right now, they fear no opponent in the Eastern Conference. While Randy Carlyle would like to see more consistent effort and to have his team tighten up defensively at times, he has to admire its ability to grind out wins and points no matter the opponent, no matter the venue. The result has them a couple of wins away from clinching a playoff spot, but more importantly other teams no longer can take the Leafs lightly. ... [The] Leafs have defeated all three division leaders, including a big early win over the Penguins at Pittsburgh. Their performance at the ACC has been spruced up lately, but the Leafs are particularly effective on the road.

QUOTE(#2):

Boston really isn't holding up their end of the bargain in terms of not playing them in the first round. Might be time to slide down to 6th..

It is always time to slide to 6th. WSH instead of either BOS or MTL is a no-brainer. And if by some miracle WPG wins that putrid division, it is eve more important to finish between 5 and 7.

Isles are doing their best to get up to the 6th spot as well.

That's because they've never been to the playoffs in years. They don't know any better. You could say they're playoff virgins.

Stranger had those and he's on IR at the moment. Maybe somebody else kept them?

I wonder if the To***to faithful are chanting "Let's Go Leafs" at Blue Jay games?

April 12, 2013  09:43 AM ET

No team should fear any opponent, anyone can beat anyone on any given night.... Though id really not care for the sens playing the pens or the bruins in the first round.... doesnt seem to matter how bad ottawa out plays the bruins they seem to always come out with a L...... though im quite content for them to finish in 6th....

Yup Boston somehow has the Sens #......the Sens would get a huge surge IMO with Spezza coming back for the play-off's..so dont discount your team so fast.

Got any more premature speculation today???

He did notice that the Islanders are in 7th though but he loves a challenge.

"Leafs have defeated all three division leaders, including a big early win over the Penguins at Pittsburgh."

well, the Sun is manufacturing another article from horse ****. The win over the pens, which is mentioned as early was the 3rd game of the season in January and they have lost the next 2 meetings. and unless they have played Was recently, it shouldn't count.
