Will Kentavious Caldwell-Pope be a lottery pick?

08:25 PM ET 04.12 | Tell me if this sounds like an NBA lottery pick to you: 6-foot-6, 185-pound shooting guard; averaged 18.5 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.0 steals as a 19-year-old sophomore in a "Big 6" conference; shot 38 percent from three-point distance and 80 percent from the free throw line; top 30 in the NCAA in Player Efficiency Rating (ahead of Nerlens Noel, Jeff Withey, Russ Smith, etc.), and an unquestioned NBA-level athlete at the 2-guard position. Sounds pretty good, right? The player above is Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, and if you haven't been paying attention to him, now is the time. Caldwell-Pope just completed his sophomore year at the University of Georgia, and because of the fact that the Bulldogs were pretty unwatchable this season (15-17 record), his talents have slipped through the cracks. The numbers speak for themselves, but when you factor in that a) he did this as the absolute focal point of the team's offense, b) he improved in every area over his freshman season, and c) he was a top 25 recruit in the country coming out of high school in Greenville, Ga., it becomes clear that his pedigree matches the pure statistical production.

That probably won't happen. His bio says KC's toughest subjects are English and history, and he has no declared major. I don't think getting a degree is his biggest priority, but it ain't for some of these kids anyway.

His major is bball, I didn't declare a major until my junior year and then changed it twice......school was not my top priority either until I grew up a bit. Big deal.
