How Dodgers plan to replace Zack Greinke

09:46 AM ET 04.13 | Chris Capuano or Ted Lilly will replace sidelined Zack Greinke in the Dodgers' rotation, according to General Manager Ned Colletti. Capuano was 12-12 with a 3.72 earned-run average as a starting pitcher last season. But the additions of Greinke and Hyun-Jin Ryu forced him into a bullpen role. Capuano, who has made two relief appearances, was on a starter's throwing program for all of spring training. Lilly, who won 12 games as recently as 2011, is currently inactive. The veteran left-hander underwent shoulder surgery in the winter, which delayed the start of his throwing program. The Dodgers used that as justification to place him on the disabled list and manufacture a spot on their overcrowded roster.

Sure, Ted Lilly at 37 coming off shoulder surgery making $13.5 million this year. That makes sense. What problem, they said they had toooo much great pitching?

Yes, and it is a starter they need to replace. You are correct, too many starters the wanted to move a few of them.

The guy would have folded in pressure situations anyway, what a waste of a contract. Plus, this dude needs to eat something, is he anorexic?

LOL, good comment coming from a Met fan!!!!! :-)

Mets are doing okay so far. I could see them winning 85 games this year.

LMFAO, do you really believe that Greinke would hit Quentin with a breaking pitch, with a 3-2 count in a one run game????

Hope that contract is insured.

At the start of season on T & R there was a story about Dodgers Having 8 starters That was before Lily had surgey and inactive and before they traded Harang. So that leaves only Capuono. Unless the Dodgers have a better option in triple A.
