Jets could include Mark Sanchez in Darrelle Revis trade

12:24 PM ET 04.13 | As the New York Jets and Tampa Bay Buccaneers continue to discuss a trade that would send All-Pro cornerback Darrelle Revis to Florida, Mark Sanchez has been discussed as possible baggage to send off as well, according to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk. The benefits of trading Sanchez are obvious for the Jets, as the 2009 first-round pick is one of the highest paid players on the team, despite finishing the 2012 season with an abysmal 66.9 passer rating. As noted by Florio, the question really isn't whether or not the Jets would like to make the trade, but whether or not it's a move that makes sense for the Buccaneers. At first glance it wouldn't be at all, as Tampa Bay would be on the hook for the final four seasons left on the large contract extension of a quarterback, who certainly hasn't played well enough to justify it.

This angle came from the Potheads out of NY yesterday...

I can't image any team that wants Revis bad enough to absorb Sanchez (and his contract). This isn't the NBA, where teams take on expiring contracts for improved cap flexibility.

Sanchez's contract pretty much makes him untradeable.

WHAT???

He took the Jets to 2 AFC Championship games.
He's a former top 5 pick, Stiffs don't get picked in the Top 5... Right???

:-)

Sanchez is probably at the only place that he might get time to play.

I really do not get how these guys can come out of college, do little or nothing, and the team is stuck like Chuck paying out the butt to a guy that can't find his own unless he's trying to stuff a football up there. Performance Clauses. College players will still want to play football, trust me. What are they gonna do? Try to use their degree? As if.
