Warriors' Bogut has bone bruise

02:14 PM ET 04.13 | The Golden State Warriors can't catch a break when it comes to Andrew Bogut's health. An MRI confirmed that the former No. 1 overall pick has a bone bruise in the same surgically repaired ankle that has kept him out of action over the course of the last two seasons. Bogut reinjured the ankle on Thursday against the Los Angeles Lakers. He left the game after initially spraining it, and the MRI results will be reviewed by Bogut's surgeon. Having missed 49 of the Warriors' 80 games this year, coach Mark Jackson will likely turn to rookie big man Festus Ezeli as Golden State begins postseason play.

guy needs to shut it completely down for a year

Thought he already did that last year..maybe the year before too.

These centers are all Odening these days. Bogut, Bynum etc can't stay healthy for even half a season. And Warriors paid him how much for how many more years?

Maybe they should shorten the season. Say, play 70 games. Leave the playoffs as is.

Lol 70 games? Thats nothing. If you want to do it right you need to go to a 62 game season or even less 50-55. Maybe change up the playoff system as well, make it like the old days with the knock out system while we're at it.

That's what happens when players are raking the dough. When the contract is coming up for renewal do they play through nagging injuries to get paid?

Bogus is overrated and injury prone. What a waste of money.

If only Bogut could stay healthy... unfortunately, every year it's the same story.

I agree 70 games is still a lot, but I factored in the need to 1)actually have enough games that true top teams emerge and 2)to allow there to be enough games that teams can make money. Unless you think they should raise ticket prices by 82/55 percent to make up the difference, a losing proposition because that's too dramatic an increase in too short a time, while 82/70 is closer to the usual increase in ticket prices over a year or two.

But, really, the NBA is not going to come to its senses and reduce player workloads. They'll just bring in younger unknowns like they always do.
