08:47 PM ET 04.14 | According to a league source, if Doug Collins doesn't return as the head coach of the Philadelphia 76ers next season, it won't be because the Sixers want him out. Collins is heading into the last season of his contract and according to that source, the Sixers are completely supporting Collins as being the head coach of the 76ers. The source also said that the Sixers never had discussions about replacing Collins. But according to to a story published in the Philadelphia Inquire, it claims that the Sixers "privately hopes that Collins decides not to return for the 2013-14 season." Collins said, "As long as I am having fun and feel like I am making a difference, I will try to keep coaching. The moment I feel like I am not making a difference in the young players' lives or doing my job to get the winning in a place that it should be, then I will make that decision." Doug Collins is a great coach. He is very passionate about the game of basketball and his impact and presence is definitely felt here in Philadelphia, but after this disappointing season, it might just be time for him to go.

QUOTE(#1):

First. Of course he'll stay one more year. Why walk away from a nice paycheck voluntarily ? If he walks away, he forfeits his pay for the coming year. On the other hand, if they fire him, they are still on the hook to pay HIM>Therefore, he stays.

He's gone........
