Patriots ready to deal Demps

07:49 AM ET 04.15 | Could speedy running back Jeff Demps be on his way out of New England almost as quickly as he arrived? The Patriots have discussed the possibility of trading Demps, according to his agent, Daniel Rose. At this point, it's unclear if anything will materialize on the trade front, but there should be some interest in Demps, considering how much attention he received last year before signing with the Pats. Obviously, teams like to make trades before the draft, so this thing could happen quickly if they find a suitor. The question is his value on the trade market, since Demps is also continuing his track career and has mentioned it could even cut into his football season.

Dump Demps.

BB can't like the idea of Demps running track AND playing football. Especially if the track cuts into the football season. BB..."Son, you're either a football player or you're not, which is it?"

If Al Davis were still alive, he would trade for Demps. He valued speed over just about everything else. Demps could help the Pats if they give him the chance. Maybe BB should show some patience on this one.

What trade value does an undrafted player who was injured and has no NFL experience worth? Answer: None.

Probably stating the obvious but who is replacing Welker on special teams? Seems like Demps would be the natural choice. Running back, fast.........I don't get it.

Not fast enough in track, and decidedly NOT a football player.

Hey! Leave the Jets and Jaguars out of this conversation! :)

Exactly. The only people who think he has any kind of football value would be the interns, who have now posted two stories about him in two days.

Too bad Al "Just Win Baby" Davis isn't around to ship the Pats a 1st round pick for this burner.

Well... The Story came from somewhere (My guess is the Pat's front office or Demps' agent)...

Have to give Kudos on finding a picture of Demps on the field - since he hasn't played a snap in the league...

Maybe the Pats can get a player to be named for him (like an 8th Rounder :-)

Maybe keep him and convert him to WR

to make up for losing Sanders.... ;-)

Bo Jackson did it with baseball. Well, until football killed his career.

I can see him saying that.....

"jack of all trades, master of none"

Keep him around as long as you have the roster spot. Try him on special teams, maybe throw him in as WR if you build a large lead in some games. Maybe there is something to be mined... but probably not.

Photo shopped most likely. You can put Oprah in a uni in the superbowl and post it.

Well, Demps has speed, so it's a possibility!
