08:04 AM ET 04.15 | During a season that will end without a playoff appearance, the Predators can at least get a look at one of their young guns: Filip Forsberg. The highly touted Forsberg made his NHL debut Sunday in a 3-0 loss to the Detroit Red Wings. He had his good moments, but it was tough to expect a lot from the 18-year-old Forsberg, who had flown from Sweden to Nashville on Saturday and had just one practice with the team. He played 18:37, fired two shots on goal and finished with a minus-two rating. ... [Barry Trotz] said Forsberg had an issue with "puck management" on Henrik Zetterberg's second-period goal, but overall the coach said Forsberg played "OK." Other players agreed with Trotz's assessment.

Trotz should be critical on the other Preds who have been in Music City more than 24 hours....fans are hungry for better performances from this team.....what a let down....

Seriously??? You're down on a kid that just got to town...one practice..and you give him crap about how he handles the puck around Zetterberg? You might want to concentrate on the rest of your team ... Weber looked terrible all day.....and the puck possession on all their lines was dismal. If it was one of the Wings teams that dominated a few years back I could understand...but you're talking about a Wings group that is middle pack at it's best.

Agreed. There aren't many players in the world today who could come in under those circumstances and play effectively. The old timers have no excuse.

Mixed reviews? After one game? Are we fickle or what?

Preds are "soft" this year....totally unexpected from a Trotzy coached team....playing tenative and putting a lot of needless pressure on Rinne due to the lack of aggressive line play....going to be a long summer....

It's okay as long they don't start calling him "Floppa'.

Been there, done that. Next year it starts again with the Preds undefeated. And this garbage about Forsberg is laughable.

He was mentored by Mikey so they call him "Rebeiro".

"Predators' prized teen opens to mixed reviews"

I think it would've been so much better if the headline read:

"Predators' prized prospect's prelude to prominence."

April 15, 2013  10:27 AM ET

The fact that they played him for over 18 and a half minutes says a lot about the rest of the team...

The announcers loved him. But the Wings are only missing one thing...scoring.

Kid was 21 when this video was made. He rarely goes down anymore, certainly nowhere near as often as the boys on Barcelona do..

I'm not even gonna ask how you know how often the Barcelona boys go down. :)

If CR7 went down anymore, he'd be a chunky promdate
