12:54 PM ET 04.15 | Penguins center and all-around superstar Sidney Crosby was back on the ice on Monday, the first time he's skated since suffering a broken jaw on March 31. Crosby was struck in the chin with a puck off the stick of defenseman Brooks Orpik and despite missing the past two weeks, remains the NHL's scoring leader with 56 points. There is no timetable for his return, however, and he's not expected to practice with the team just yet.

This guy Boldin played with a broken jaw in football, so with a full mask and still 4 weeks I could see him for the playoffs

Less than 4 weeks now I guess.

He's obviously worried about losing the Hart to Phil Kessel.

He vaguely remembers that name from the World Jr tourney in Grand Forks...

And he was on thr Florida trip. Wonder if he got Sunburn.

He'll be ready for the playoffs, even if he has to wear one of those hideous cages.

Or from a big game in Vancouver in Feb 2010 (come on now, dig a lil deeper).

2010 was far too easy...that's why I went a few years deeper!

again...is there a huge rush for this?
Especially for this guy

He is "skating." It isn't as if he is returning to the line-up tomorrow for those worried about him returning "too early."

I understand his desire to get back on ice asap......hard to stand by and watch others play and you can't.....but hope he does not rush it.

For the playoffs? Yes I think so. This is about winning championships. If he can wear protective gear and be productive the goal should be to get him ready. It's not a career-threaning injury here.

Does he need to play before the playoffs begin. Not necessarily but if at all possible - practice = yes.
