08:05 AM ET 04.16 | Before even playing a down in New England, Danny Amendola will have made a great many fans in the region. Following the horrific events surrounding the Boston Marathon on Monday that killed three people and injured over 100 more, Amendola is pledging to help in the relief efforts. ... [Via Twitter:] @DannyAmendola I will DONATE $100 for EVERY pass I catch next season to whatever "Boston Marathon Relief Fund" there is. And $200 for any dropped pass. ... Amendola has averaged 64 catches a season in years when he's been able to play at least 10 games. ... If he can build a strong connection with Tom Brady, Amendola might end up donating close to $10,000 to the fund by season's end.

A little info on the 8 year old who was killed.

His father was just finishing the race and the boy went out to give him a hug. After the hug, The father continued on to the finish line while his son ran back to be with his mother and 6 year old sister.

Then the bomb went off. The boy was killed. His sister lost a leg and the mother is undergoing brain surgery today.

The father was not injured (at least physically).

So if you think you are having a bad day, consider what this poor man is going through.

I'm wondering about the other two victims who didn't make it. Neither has been identified in the media, which strikes me as unusual.

April 16, 2013  10:22 AM ET

growing up in this are i cant count how many times ive been there. copley has always been a meeting spot for anytime i would go out with my friends in Boston, weather it was when i was teenager and we would skate in that area or as an adult and go drinking in back bay...i have faith we as Bostonians will dig deep and find a way to help all the victims of this cowardly act...
i always have and always will believe in Boston

I know what you are saying. Perhaps they have not been able to reach family to notify them.
