Caps enemy? Complancency

08:21 AM ET 04.16 | The Capitals aren't quite a lock for the playoffs, but things are looking good down the stretch -- well, other than Saturday. Teams that have long clinched playoff berths, or have been eliminated, can afford to quit for a period, or the remainder of the regular season. The Caps fall into neither category. So Saturday night's performance, in which they blew a four-goal lead before winning in overtime, has caused some hand-wringing among the Red crowd. "We got a little complacent," Troy Brouwer admitted Monday. "We let off the gas a little bit. ... We've got to take a lesson out of it but at the same point we've got to be happy with the two points."

I think the headline tells you all you need to know about the 12-13 Caps. If they are complacent now, they are going nowhere in the playoffs.

That would only make sense. Which is probably why they aren't doing it.

They miss coach Dale Hunter ... and Semin. :-)
