05:04 PM ET 04.16 | Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly defended the reputation of linebacker Manti Te'o and believed his lackluster performance in the BCS National Championship game didn't hinder his future prospects of being a solid NFL player. Kelly pointed to the "body of work: Te'o had accumulated over his four seasons with the Irish, and said that the linebacker was not exposed during Alabama's demolition of Notre Dame. Kelly did admit his team was "pushed around" in a 42-14 defeat.

His "performance" in the Title game WON'T hinder his future prospects?! He DIDN'T get exposed against 'Bama?!

Uhhh, might wanna watch that game film again Coach Kelly. Your "star" linebacker got TRUCKED by 'Bama all night long! He will get PUMMELED in The League. The biggest "hoax" involving Te'o was his status as he bestdefensive player in the nation.

Sorry to disagree EWO. The entire ND defense got TRUCKED by Alabama. Te'o is a smart (albiet naive) player who will find a place on the field in the NFL. He may not wind up in the Hall of Fame but he has a bright future ahead of him both with and without football (and yes, I am a "homer").

There were no exposure. Everyone that knew anything about football already knew that everything about Notre Dame including Te'o was over-hyped by the Media all year long. Those poor little darlings.

I said this year that I thought Luke Kuecjly s/was a better linebacker and a Domer asked if I was even serious. This was before the Alabama game. Man, the tone changed for awhile after the game, but now it seems they are pumping him up again.
